Shedd Aquarium

Before we headed home from Chicago, we hit up the Shedd Aquarium. Ava and Aidan had a great time checking out the fish and other sea creatures. Flash photography wasn't allowed, so most of my photos didn't come out too well. Here's what I've got:

Aunt Beth came to the aquarium with us. Ava was excited to see her!

They had a pretend submarine that the kids were going nuts over. Literally, there were about 20 kids between the ages of 1 and 7 in this little submarine. It was as if there was an emergency on deck and everyone was aware of it. All of the kids were screaming and running around, pushing buttons, flipping switches. They were all yelling things like "run for your lives!", "sea monster!" and "land ahead!". I kinda got the feeling there was a method to their madness, and this swarm of munchkins was somehow managing this underwater disaster.

The kids liked the fish a lot. But nothing was as fun to them as dressing up as penguins and running around the pretend penguin habitat. Ava literally started crying when we had to take off the penguin costume and go see the next exhibit. They were adorable.

Again, looks like everyone had a lot of fun. Too bad we were not invited to meet up with anyone while they were up here.
