All About The Princesses

Before we went to Disney World, Ava loved the Disney princesses. She didn't know who any of them were, just that they were princesses and that she loved them. We don't even own a single Disney movie...so I guess the love of princesses is just something that comes naturally to a girly two year old.

Well...now that we've been to Disney World and Ava has met the princesses, she loves them even more and knows who every one of them is. This week The Little Mermaid was playing at The Muny (a historic outdoor theater), so we took Ava to see the show. She was absolutely entranced. She intently watched the entire thing, even though it didn't end until over an hour and a half past her bedtime. At the end of each song, Ava would clap very politely, acting just like a grown-up, along with the crowd. Ava has since been talking about Ariel constantly. Her little Ariel doll has been everywhere with her - to the coffee shop, to take naps...

Ava getting ready for the show to start:

Today, Ava's best little friend Gretchen had her third birthday party. Ava got her a Rapunzel dress and accessories because Gretchen loves 1)dresses 2)Rapunzel and above all 3)Anything that is purple. Gretch and Ava then immediately had to dress up like princesses for the remainder of the party (Ava was Ariel in her wedding dress). They are definitely princesses in more than one sense. :)

Since visiting Disney, Ava has been in love with Tinkerbell. Mawmaw got her a Tinkerbell doll while we were there, which she has been playing with every day. Today I gave her a little Tinkerbell costume and the Tinkerbell movie that I bought her a few weeks ago. Obviously, this was something I couldn't pass up. I clearly try to stick to buying the essentials...

Ava was super excited about the Tinkerbell toys. She put on her costume and started pretending to fly around the house. Of course, we then had to watch the movie, with Ava in her costume and her doll on her lap. :)
