A Few Firsts

It has been quite a week for little Ava, full of firsts...

Sunday night, we had our first bath. Poor Ava was quite forgiving to her mommy who has never bathed an infant before. We're working on our skills.

Monday, Ava had her first doctor's appointment with Dr. Plax. We thought he was absolutely wonderful. He looked her over head to toe and couldn't find a thing to complain about. Neither can we! She is gaining weight appropriately and isn't even a touch jaundice, which is fantastic!

Today is a huge day. Ava is celebrating her one-week birthday! I can't believe it's already been a week! I have clearly been watching too many "Ace of Cakes" episodes because I decided that it was imperative that I make a gigantic delicious cake yesterday. It wasn't specifically for her birthday at its inception, but we decided to call it her one-week birthday cake to justify the massive quantity of cake we now have to eat! Also, today I ventured out of the house to run a few errands in the Mini for the first time. It was so nice to get some fresh air! I am quite sore after the venture, but it was worth it!
