Summertime!

We have been having so much fun with the kids this summer.  We've been spending some serious time in the kiddie pool in the back yard.  I'm not sure if Ava or Patrick likes it more - they are both crazy about it!  Ava shows off her swimming skills and Patrick motors all over the place in his little floatie.

Ava also discovered the fun of catching lightning bugs recently.  Here she's looking at the first critter she caught.  "This is so amazing!!"

A little friend landed on her head:

We've spent a lot of time in the sprinklers as well - both in our back yard and out front with all the neighbor kids.  Ava had her friend Addison over this weekend for some back yard fun.

Patrick was just chillin' at his baby station.

We recently had an impromptu hot dog party in the front yard with the neighbors.  Just pulled the grill around front and started cooking. :)

Patrick was bummed he didn't get a hot dog, but he was a good sport.

Last night we hit up a microbrew festival at a restaurant down the street.  Ava had some pretty awesome dance moves...but alas...no sound on the video. :(

And the other SUPER AWESOME thing about this summer is that I am finally finished with my second year of fellowship!  No more weekends or call for the next year!!!  I do have my echo boards coming up in 3 weeks, though, so most of my free time has been spent studying thus far.  Fortunately I have a great study buddy.

Kate, it sounds like you guys live in a great neighborhood. What fun! Oh, and I love that "baby station" in the other post. The umbrella is a great idea:)
