Ava and Patrick helped us pick out a great tree for this Christmas season. Ava hung her new Alice in Wonderland ornament as the first one on the tree. The Elf on the Shelf also made his appearance at our house. Ava named him Hermie, and despite some initial skepticism ("Well he doesn't look real..."), she's pretty sure he's the real deal. She comes downstairs at night after we think she's asleep to check to see if he's moved yet. And she is pretty regularly blaming him for things she did - usually eating chocolate candies.
Our gifts are wrapped and under the tree, and we can't wait for old Santa to make his stop at our house next week!
