It's been a somewhat eventful week as far as the pregnancy goes. Sunday night we were in the hospital until 2:30 in the morning with false labor. I always said I would never be one of those women who went into the hospital for false labor, but, turns out I was wrong. I was having contractions every 3-4 minutes for about 2 hours at home, so we finally decided we should go in to get it checked out. But...no dice. We were grateful that our friends Dean and Alethea were here to stay with Ava so we didn't have to get her out of bed (especially since it wasn't even the real deal), but I'm sure they were pretty tired at work the next day.
At my appointment on Tuesday, our OB was first of all reassuring that we did the right thing coming into the hospital Sunday night. Though I still felt silly for coming in for a false alarm. He said I had further dilated a little bit, from 2 cm the week before to 2.5 cm this week. I told him I thought he was faking the last 0.5 cm for the sake of my morale, but he insisted it was a real change. :)
I've had quite a bit of contractions this week, some pretty painful, and mostly in the evenings. But they always go away by the next morning, so we're just trying to be patient. I finished my last full day of work Friday - I'll still be working all next week but my days will be significantly less demanding. We have another appointment on Monday morning (before my OB heads out of town). I'm guessing we'll probably set a tentative induction date for the following week, in the event I don't deliver on my own before then.
Come on baby boy!! We're ready for you!!
