Yesterday Ava turned TWO! I cannot believe that two years have gone by already. I guess time flies when you're having fun!! We had SUCH fun day! Ava had so much family come in town to help her celebrate, and we felt so blessed at all of the amazing friends we have who came to help her ring in another great year.
We really had a day of celebration, that was topped off with a Yo Gabba Gabba Dancey Dance Birthday Party. If you do not know what Yo Gabba Gabba is, that probably means that you are not the parent of a two-year old. It is a super weird kids show on Nick Jr. that pretty much every two year old I know of is in love with. Including Ava. We were all set for a perfect Yo Gabba Gabba Bash...We had a BIRTHDAY GIRL:
Ava got a new Toodee t-shirt and blue tutu for her birthday. As you can see, Toodee was ready to party!
It also helped that we had a DJ LANCE ROCK!!! Awesome job on the costume, Mer!!
Then, of course, we had DECORATIONS!! Per usual, I demonstrated my poor time-management skills with spending WAY too much time on the decorations. :) The banner:
Balloons:
Cupcakes:
p.s. the daisies were a nod to Foofa-land which is full of daisies. I am certain that only the two-year-olds and I got that reference. Indicating that I need to watch less childrens television.
And of course, we had a GABBALAND! I made this out of foamboard and cardstock, then Jake built this awesome frame for it so it would stand up. Complete with hinges and a latch so it folds up nicely. He did an amazing job on it.
And the favor bags!
Ava was a big fan of the balloons:
Let's get this party started!!
All the characters were there in some form another. :) Here is Ava showing us Plex:
Mia was playing Toodee:
Ava showing off her dance moves in Gabbaland:
Eli playing Broby:
Ellie made a great Foofa:
And of course the GAMES! I wasn't too sure about trying to do games at a 2 year old party, but the kids were great sports. Here they're playing "Pin the Eye on Muno":
Ava was very proud of her excellent pinning skills:
Ian just decided to pin the eye on himself:
Adrian showing us how it's done:
After Pin the Eye on Muno, we had a "Funny Face" Contest! I think Ellie was the winner:
Ava laughing at her own funny face attempts:
And after the games, it was time for some CAKE!
Blowing out the candles:
Licking the icing off of the candles:
I don't think Gretchen liked the cake. :)
Ava didn't either. :)
And of course there were presents!!! Ava got so many nice gifts. She got some fun books, dress up toys, pretend kitchen food, clothes, crafts, and outside toys. She also got a new table from Mawmaw and Pawpaw that she started using immediately. Ava loved her Yo Gabba Gabba bath toys and insisted on taking a bath right then and there in the middle of the party. We were fortunately able to talk her down.

Kate, it was the best 2-year old party we've attended! Thanks for putting on such a fabulous party! 5 stars to you and Jake!
