Six Flags Over Ava

Today was a very special day for Ava! Her cousin Aidan come over so we could all go to SIX FLAGS!! I wasn't sure how this would go...would she be terrified of the rides? Too hot and tired from walking around in the sun? Well, they thought it was awesome! They were both so well behaved all day, and had a blast on the rides and in the water park.

Ava was a little skeptical of the cartoon characters, though. She thought it was pretty fun to wave at them, but wasn't into giving a high-five and certainly not a hug. I have to say she's probably pretty smart...what kind of people dress up in fur costumes on a 90 degree day? :)

Ava and Aidan were such big kids, and even rode most of the rides all by themselves! Which I am pretty sure Ava is below the minimum height requirement to do that, but we won't tell...

The little astronauts on the Marvin the Martian Rocketship ride. This was a favorite.



On the swings, all by themselves! They loved this ride, and Ava threw a fit every time the ride was over. Hey, she's a girl who knows what she wants!


Ava in the pirate ship portion of the water park. They had a blast playing on the pirate ship and going down the pirate water slides. They both went down all by themselves! The splash at the end was a big hit.

These kids were spoiled rotten today...chicken fingers and fries (with lots of ketchup) for lunch, a chocolate chip cookie, and of course, ice cream! I think Ava takes after her Mawmaw Evelyn...

The sugar rush from the cookie and ice cream wasn't enough to keep these kids up...they were beat!! This was about 3 minutes into the car ride home:
