We're well into 3rd trimester territory with just 8 weeks to go before we get to meet this baby girl! The nursery is close to ready. Baby clothes are out of boxes and washed. Bottles are cleaned. And we finally bought a new car that can accommodate the growing family. As sad as we were to say goodbye to the Mini, we were pretty excited to welcome our new black Acura MDX to the family. Ava is particularly excited about the third row of seats, which she chooses to sit in even though it isn't necessary at this point. :)
Ava is so excited for the baby to arrive. She hugs and kisses my belly every day. She loves to sit and feel the baby kick. She is going to be a fantastic big sister again. I'm not sure how much Patrick understands about the baby's impending arrival, but we continue to talk to him about it frequently. He seems to understand that there will be poopy diapers and crying going on, and that his grandparents will come to visit. :) He also talks about teaching the baby about trains, the zoo, and waffles. We've signed the kids up for a "big sibs" class in early June, which will also hopefully help him get an idea of what is about to happen in our house!
