Kiddos this week

Jake left for Europe on Saturday (England, Wales, Austria, and Germany).  I've decided I'm in the wrong job. :)  Friday night before he left, he and Ava made homemade pizzas.  Ava said, "Dad's brave enough to throw the pizza dough in the air!"  She thought he was a world class chef.

Patrick had to skip the pizza, much to his dismay, but he sure is getting better at eating "real" food.  He's liked (or at least tolerated) everything he's tried so far...except for bananas.  I can't say I blame him - who'd want to eat a slimy mushed up banana?  Not me.  He's constantly grabbing at our plates and glasses, though.  He can't wait to eat big kid food like Ava.

Avocado Face.
The weather was gorgeous this weekend, and we took full advantage of it.  Sunday after church we took the kids to the park for a picnic and play time.  Patrick mostly snoozed, but Ava played hard!

Picnic with Meme.

Baby Siesta.

Things have been busy around our house lately, and I wanted to take Ava out for some girl time.  So Sunday afternoon we went out for ice cream and her first mani/pedi.  She did great, and thought she was really big stuff.  She changed her mind on her nail polish colors about 6 times, but finally settled on alternating green and purple.  Obviously. :)

Sunday night, we had movie night with the kids since it was a "stay at home day" on Monday with Meme.  I bought Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for 5 bucks at Target, and boy have we already gotten our money's worth.  Ava has watched it over and over, and still gets worried that Charlie won't find a golden ticket.  Then she gets giddy with excitement when he finds one.

Movie night.

Patrick turned 6 months old yesterday.  He's almost sitting on his own, and sits very well with support.  He's blowing bubbles, and trying hard to say "mama"...not there yet though. :)  He had his 6 month check up today.  He's in the 50% for height and 10% for weight.  He loves to play with toys and play in the bath.  He just smiles all day long.  Love that sweet boy!

Ava had her spring review by her teachers at school this week as well.  Her teacher said, "Ava takes great pride in her work and always tries to excel in everything she does.  She is a true leader."

I sure feel blessed to have such great kids!
