We had a doctor's appointment today...and things are looking great! After some serious (and seriously uncomfortable) baby gymnastics last week (in which I'm fairly certain the baby flipped from vertex/head down to breech and back to vertex), we had confirmation today that the baby is indeed head down. Hooray! I'm also a 1/2 centimeter dilated, which is great - nothing to worry about this early, but to me anyways gives me hope that things will move along on their own in a timely manner.
My mom was here last week helping me out while Jake was in Austria for his LAST trip before the baby arrives. We got a lot done in preparation for the baby - the curtains are (finally) ironed, the baby clothes and linens are washed, and the closet is organized.
Sunday my girlfriends from fellowship threw me an absolutely wonderful surprise baby shower brunch at Salt restaurant. They were so sweet to all be there to help welcome this baby with lots of adorable (and soft!) baby clothes, socks, blankets, hats, etc. Ava was super excited that she was given a gift as well - an adorable fairy tale book, which we have been reading every night. It has a dragon and princess on the front cover. When Ava saw it, she said, "Aaaahhh!! It's so MAGICAL!!!"
We will be heading out of town this weekend for Roberto's wedding in Louisville on Friday, and then to Equality for the rest of the weekend. We're looking forward to lots of fun with family and friends. And then after that, we'll be sticking close to home, anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little guy!
