Jake and I have been in Europe for the past week, both for work related trips that we were able to coordinate. We spent two days in Munich together, then two days in Salzburg together, and then I took an "adventurous" trip via train to Prague for a conference while Jake stayed behind in Salzburg. While the weather hasn't necessarily been cooperating with us for much of the trip, we've still had a great time exploring these historic cities - castles, restaurants, museums... Traveling while pregnant has added a bit of a challenge to the expedition, but mostly because we have spent days in cities known for their brewhouses....and a brewhouse isn't usually where pregnant ladies hang out. :)
But one very exciting thing has happened while we've been abroad, and that is the wonderful feeling of the baby kicking! I am pretty sure that we are going to have another adventurer in our hands, because as soon as we got settled on the first night in Munich, I told Jake that I thought I was feeling the baby move...but it's always so hard to be sure at first because it is so brief and nondescript a feeling initially. But, as I suspected, each day the movements have been getting stronger, more frequent, and more distinct. Especially after I eat a delicious meal or have a cup of coffee - the baby obviously has good taste already. It's such an amazing thing to feel that little life kicking around in there, and I've been looking forward to this moment for a long time. I plan to enjoy all of that squirming for the next 24 weeks - we are at 16 weeks today!

This weekend, Ava said that her little brother named Webster was in her mommy's tummy. Not sure where she got that but she was certain of it!
