Haunted Hayride

Last night we went to Eckert's Orchard in the evening for a bonfire and a haunted hayride with some of our friends and their kiddos, Mia and Gabriel.  The kids ate their weight in marshmallows (or 'mellows' as Mia likes to say), and we discovered that Ava is indeed Gabriel's "best girlfriend".  Well, at least he has a pretty sizeable crush on her.

After the bonfire, we went on the "haunted hayride", which actually turned out to be quite a bit scarier than I had expected...I probably wouldn't have taken her on it if I would have known it was that scary.  The scariest thing for me wasn't the werewolves jumping out of the cornfields, but rather the thought of Ava waking up in the middle of the night every night for the next week or two having nightmares.  We employed the same strategy that we did last time we got into this situation (on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disney World).  We told her they were so friendly, and that they were our friends wearing their Halloween costumes saying "boo!".  It seemed to work, because she's still talking about the friendly people saying boo in the cornfields...

Devouring the 'mellows'.  Do you want to know what it looks like when you feed three two-year-olds an entire bag of marshmallows?  No, you don't. :)

Starting the hayride!!  So stinkin' cute.

She spent most of the hayride like this, poor thing.  Adorable, though!
