Easter Eggs

Today was an Easter Egg filled day! It was the day of our church's community Easter egg hunt at Tower Grove Park, just down the road from our house. Of course, today it was 40 degrees, rainy, and windy, which made for spectacular egg hunting weather. Ava got right out there once they announced the start of the hunt, and filled her bucket to the brim. Then she started helping fill up her little friend Naaman's basket because he was a less agressive hunter than her. She also got to see the Easter Bunny and was courageous enough to take a lollipop from his basket. After the hunt, we high-tailed it pretty quickly because Ava was getting cold. We grabbed some Easter stickers and headed to Murdoch Perk, our neighborhood coffee shop, for some hot chocolate. Ava was having fun putting stickers on herself and her Daddy: Finally, we headed home to check out her loot: "It's an eye patch!" After naptime, it was finally time to dye our own Easter Eggs. Ava did some egg decorating with markers and stickers:

You may notice that she ended up with some marker on herself as well. I blame her friend Gretchen for this one - last night Gretchen gave herself a full mustache and beard with markers while we were at her house. :)

She was so excited to eat the eggs, she could hardly wait for them to be peeled. She downed two entire eggs in about 5 minutes!

We made our eggs into little Easter critters. I thought they came out pretty cute! Until Ava immediately disassembled them all to eat them. :)
