Winter Wonderland

We got snow last night! Ava woke up this morning, and instead of the usual, "Mooooommmyyy, where aaaaare yoooouuu?" that I hear over the baby monitor, it was, "Bubbles! Bubbles! Mess! Mess! Outside mess!" We walked into her room to find her standing up, fascinated with the snow outside her window, insistent that there were inumerable bubbles that had made a huge mess outside.

We bundled her up to let her go play in it. We didn't have any Ava-sized gloves, so she had to borrow Daddy's. Here she is ready to head out:

It was a hit! Even with the enormous gloves that I didn't even manage to put on the correct hands. She was a little nervous to touch it at first, but "warmed up" after a few minutes. When we asked her if the snow was hot or cold, she said, "Cold!" And when I asked her if the snow was black or white, she said, "White!" She did remain insistent that this was a huge mess.

Jake took Ava for a ride in the new sled we bought her a few weeks ago. For the past two years, we have been laughing about how Aidan was insistent that his sled was a boat when he got it for Christmas at Ava's age. Today, as soon as she saw her sled, she said, "Boat!" I guess they see the world from a pretty similar perspective! Ava really enjoyed the sled ride, giggling all the way!

This is us trying to get Ava to walk in the snow for the first time. We had to convince her to make footprints in order to walk in it.

After she got warmed up, Ava and Daddy went for a little run in the snow.
