City Garden

Saturday morning, Jake and I took Ava to the City Garden downtown. There are all kinds of sculptures and fountains and other varieties of art for kids to play on. She had a blast. I should've packed an extra pair of clothes, it turns out.

Peering out the eye of a giant head sculpture:

She LOVED the water fountains. This first one was a sort of slow trickle down a slight incline. The giant hollow head was behind it.

Playing in the water:

She thought she was pretty big, out there running around with the other kids:

Can you say "excited"?

Running around in the water:

Fountain #2 - this one had lots of holes in the ground where the water would spurt up. Every little kid's dream.

I don't know who this other little kid was, but he was hilarious. Obviously a future engineer. First of all, no regard for social norms in his clothing selection. But more importantly, he was bound and determined to figure out how the little fountains worked. He was perservering despite getting drenched in water. At one point he was trying to figure out how to get the water to come up a straw he was sticking in the hole. Ava looks a little alarmed by his activities here:

Somebody got splashed in the face with water:

And, running around the little fountains:
